Sillano is a small town in Garfagnana in the province of Lucca. The town was founded in 652 BC and it is located 700 meters above the sea level.
The main church is
San Bartolomeo Church, which dates back to 1405.
Important to visit also the Madonna delle Grazie Oratory from 1630, founded by believers in Sillano who wanted to thank the Virgin Mary because the black plague did not arrive in town, the Nostra Signora di Caravaggio Church and the Carmine Church located on the route to reach Pradarena.
Garfagnana is famous for the beautiful landscapes, for its paths along the hills and the
small villages full of history and charme. Sillano is no exception. We suggest to visit the hamlets called Dalli Sotto, Dalli Sopra and the Soraggio Fortress.
In Dalli Sotto there is the San Michele Arcangelo Church, built during the Napoleon times and Dalli Sopra is famous for its medieval walls and towers. Soraggio is located higher on the hills than the other hamlets and the village was created around the main church, the San Martino Church.
