Location
The vacation villa is situated just 50 meters from the beaches of Castiglioncello, a few kilometers from Livorno, the third most populated town in Tuscany after Florence and Pisa, and one of the most important Italian sea ports.
The town flourished under the Medici family: when Grand Duke Ferdinand I, at the end of the 16th century, issued the so-called "Leggi Livornine" (Livorno laws), which granted freedom of religion to the inhabitants, many foreign merchants moved to Livorno. The town is the seat of a famous naval academy and gave birth to famous artists and musicians, including Amedeo Modigliani, Giovanni Fattori and Pietro Mascagni.
