Castel Focognano is a beautiful town in the Casentino near Arezzo. The town is spread around the Castle Focognano , dating back to 1028.

A few kilometers from the historic center, there is the famous Church of Socana documented since 1004. Recent archaeological findings show that the church was built on an earlier Christian church, which was built on an Etruscan temple of the fifth century BC.
