Tuscany Vacation Villas

Location

The villa stands at an altitude of about 500 meters just a few kilometers from Arezzo, a town in south-eastern Tuscany situated at the confluence of Valdarno, Casentino and Valdichiana.

Arezzo was a major Etruscan town before being conquered by Romans following to the defeat in the battle of Roselle in 295 BC. In the Middle Ages the powerful city of Arezzo became a free commune and was involved in the struggle between Guelphs and Ghibellines that brought bloodshed to Tuscany for many decades. In 1289 Florence and Siena defeated Arezzo in Campaldino and in 1384 the town was annexed to the Tuscan state ruled by the Medicis.

Renowned as the town of gold, Arezzo gave birth to important Italian artists, such as Petrarch, Giorgio Vasari and Pietro Aretino.

On the first Sunday of September in Arezzo takes place the famous "Giostra del Saracino", whereas every month, on the first Sunday and the preceding Saturday the town hosts an antiques fair.


Description

The villa situated at the beginning of the route connecting Arezzo to Valtiberina is an excellent solution for visiting important Tuscan cities of art and tourist destinations, such as Siena, Arezzo, Florence, Monterchi, Sansepolcro and Anghiari. The National Park of Casentino Forests and the sanctuary of La Verna are within short driving distance as well.
Close to the villa are many wineries and oil-mills, which can be visited upon request.
A riding stable is just a few kilometers from the property.

The villa stands at the center of an estate that includes a wide fully-fenced garden equipped with outdoor furniture and over two hectares of woodlands.
The private swimming pool (14x7 m; depth: 1.50-3 m) in the garden is furnished with sunshades and deck chairs and affords a wonderful view over the surrounding mountains and the town of Arezzo. The gazebo nearby is furnished with table, chairs and a swing.
In the garden are also a wood-burning oven, the barbecue equipment, a private tennis court and a children's playground.
The building near the swimming pool houses a table-tennis table, a billiard and a table-football table.

In the summer, a person in charge of the cleansing of the swimming pool lives in the apartment adjacent to the villa.


Accommodation

The villa is a three-story building composed of kitchen, living room, dining room, wide lounge, four double bedrooms (three with ensuite bathroom with shower), two twin bedrooms (one with ensuite bathroom with shower), a bathroom with bathtub and a half bathroom.

One of the twin bedrooms can be transformed into a double bedroom.
Two more single beds are available upon request.
A porch is furnished for having meals in the open air.

The villa is equipped with tennis court, children's playground, table-football table, table-tennis table, billiard, barbecue, wood-burning oven, working fireplace, oven, high chair and private car parking place.

A cook, a domestic help, a baby sitter and a breakfast service are available upon request.
Traditional Tuscan dinners and visits to the nearby outlet villages, oil-mills and wineries are organized upon request.

Shops and restaurant are within 5 kilometers of the villa.
A riding stable is 10 kilometers from the estate.
