Location Situated about 550 meters above sea level, the villa stands atop a hill in Valdichiana, just a few hundred meters from Lucignano (Arezzo). Lucignano is a small town with a medieval plan that was probably founded on the ruins of a Roman castrum. Situated along the road from Arezzo to Siena, Lucignano was an important border castle. The stronghold and the city walls date from the 14th century, when Lucignano was under Siena domination. Florence conquered the town in the 16th century. Description The villa is on the top a hill and affords a splendid view of Valdichiana and the towns of Cortona and Castiglion Fiorentino. The buildings that composes the complex are surrounded by a garden with two paved terraces where are a gazebo and some tables for guests to have meals al fresco while enjoying the superb panorama, and the private swimming pool (12x6 m; depth: 1.40 m), exclusively reserved to guests. Many Tuscan cities of art, including Sansepolcro, Anghiari, Siena, Arezzo, Cortona and Florence are within short driving distance, whereas Rapolano Terme and its thermal establishments, a riding stable, a golf club and a tennis club are just a few kilometers from the villa.
