Location The farmhouse stands at an altitude of about 340 meters on a hill near Cortona and Castiglion Fiorentino, in Arezzo Valdichiana. Cortona is a town boasting Etruscan origins in south-eastern Tuscany. Some parts of the Etruscan and Roman city walls that once surrounded the town are still visible. The fortress of Girifalco and the sanctuary of Santa Margherita, the patron saint of Cortona, are worth a visit. Every summer Cortona hosts the Tuscan Sun Festival, an art festival that attracts many international artists, whereas June is the month of the Giostra dell'Archidado. Description The beautiful stone building affords splendid views of the castle of Montecchio and the surrounding countryside. The private swimming pool (12x5.5 m; depth: 1.20-1.90 m) lies in scenic location in the fully fenced garden. The barbecue equipment is at guests' disposal, and an outdoor space is furnished for alfresco dining. Arezzo, Siena, the Chianti region and Lake Trasimeno are easily reached both by car and train. Accommodation The farmhouse is a two-story building consisting of kitchen with dining area, storeroom, two living rooms (one with a fireplace), passage room with a piano, four double bedrooms with private bathroom and two toilettes. Two different staircases lead to the first floor, which has also access to the outside. An outbuilding by the pool composes of living room with dining area and kitchen corner, a double bedroom and a bathroom with shower. Facilities and Services The farmhouse is equipped with barbecue, fireplace, TV set, oven, microwave oven, freezer, slicer, espresso coffee maker, American-style coffee maker, hook-on chair and private car parking space. A domestic help is available upon request. Shops and services of any kind and a railway station are 3 kilometers from the farmhouse.
