Location The villa stands in panoramic position at an altitude of about 289 meters on the hills of Valdichiana, a few kilometers from Cortona (Arezzo). Like many other Tuscan towns, Cortona boasts Etruscan origins, as demonstrate the imposing city walls the mysterious people built in the 4th century BC. A free commune in the 13th century, the town was involved into the struggle between Guelphs and Ghibellines that shook the whole region. In that occasion, Cortona entered into an alliance with Siena and Florence against nearby Arezzo. In the 15th century, Cortona became part of the Florentine Republic. Recently, Cortona has been chosen as the set of several films, including "Under the Tuscan Sun", "Benvenuti in Casa Gori" and "Una Moglie Bellissima". Description The villa built in the 1970s is the ideal solution for visiting many cities of art in southern Tuscany and central Italy, including Cortona, Montepulciano, Arezzo, Pienza, Siena, Perugia and Assisi, which are all within short driving distance. A few kilometers from the villa lies Lake Trasimeno, where guests can sail, fish and windsurf. Around the peculiar building stretches a wide fully fenced terraced park. The private swimming pool (13x6.5 m; depth: 1.20-2.50 m) with outdoor shower and wide solarium area is about 80 meters from the building. A masonry barbecue is at guests' disposal under the pergola equipped for having meals al fresco. Accommodation The villa is a three-story building consisting of entry hall, kitchen, living room with fireplace and dining area, laundry room, a double bedroom with ensuite bathroom with shower, a twin bedroom, a gallery opening onto the living room with access to two solarium terraces and two more bathrooms (one with shower and one with bathtub). A second double bedroom and a bathroom with shower are 50 meters away, under the pool level. All of the bedrooms on the ground floor have a direct outdoor access.
