Location
The farmhouse is located at an altitude of 550 meters above sea level on the hills of Valdichiana, close to Cortona, in the province of Arezzo.
Valdichiana is the name of an alluvial valley in central Italy that owes its name to the river Clanis, which passed through it in the past. The valley was already inhabited in Etruscan times, as demonstrate the numerous archaeological finds brought to light in Castiglion Fiorentino and Arezzo (including the famous Chimera), and the necropolis in Cortona. In the Middle Ages the valley became a marshy area because of the alterations to the flow of the river Clanis made by the Romans in the course of the centuries; it was also the theatre of many battles involving the armies of Arezzo, Siena, Florence and Perugia. It was only in the 18th century that the Habsburg-Lorraine grand dukes successfully reclaimed Valdichiana.
Mentioned by Dante in his "Divine Comedy" and by Goethe in his "Italian Journey", at present Valdichiana is renowned mainly for its excellent chianina meat, its olive oil and its wines.
Description
The ancient stone farmhouse is an excellent departure point for visiting Arezzo, Cortona, Sansepolcro, Anghiari and many other Tuscan cities of art, which are within easy driving distance.
Sporty guests can visit the golf club, the tennis club and the riding stable that are situated a few kilometers from the estate, or have pleasant bike rides with the bicycles at their disposal.
About 10 meters from the building lies the fenced private swimming pool with whirlpool corner (8x12 m; depth: 1.60 m). The pool side is furnished with deck chairs, sun loungers and sunshades.
A gazebo furnished for having meals in the open air, the barbecue equipment, a swing and a children's playground with slide, table-tennis table and table-football table are at guests' disposal in the wide garden that surrounds the building.
The farmhouse produces organic fruit and vegetables.
Accommodation
The farmhouse is a two-story building divided into four apartments and composes of four kitchens, two living rooms each with a double sofa bed, four double bedrooms and four bathrooms.
The kitchen of one of the apartments on the ground floor is used as the common dining room.
Three supplementary single beds can be added in three of the bedrooms.

The farmhouse is provided with table-football table, swing, slide, table-tennis table, bicycles, barbecue, DVD player, oven, microwave oven and private car parking place.
A cook, a baby sitter and breakfast and maid services are available upon request.
