Location The brick farmhouse stands at an altitude of 300 meters in the countryside south of Arezzo, in Valdichiana, surrounded by corn and sun-flower fields. Valdichiana is a region in south-eastern Tuscany that stretches in the provinces of Arezzo and Siena. It is rich in medieval towns and churches and owes its name to the torrent Clanis, which passed through it in the past. Already inhabited in Etruscan times and then ruled by the Romans, Valdichiana was the theater of various battles involving the armies of Florence, Arezzo, Siena and Perugia, including the battle of Scannagallo in 1554. After having been reclaimed in the second half of the 18th century, in the present days Valdichiana is one of the most fertile areas in Tuscany. In this region are produced some of the most famous Italian wines, such as the Vino Nobile di Montepulciano, the Chianti Colli Aretini and the Rosso di Montepulciano. Equally renowned are the Chianina meat, Sinalunga cured meats and sausages, the pecorino cheese and the extra-virgin olive oil produced in the valley. Valdichiana is renowned also for the thermal towns of Chianciano Terme and San Casciano dei Bagni, and for Lake of Chiusi nature reserve. Description The beautiful farmhouse is surrounded by a fully fenced garden furnished for having meals in the open air and equipped with a barbecue. The private swimming pool next to the building (8x4 m; depth: 1.50 m) is equipped with deck chairs, a parasol and sun loungers. A wood-burning oven is in the entry loggia. Thanks to its position in the heart of Valdichiana, the farmhouse is an excellent departure point for visiting Arezzo, Siena, Cortona, Caprese Michelangelo, Anghiari, Pienza, Montalcino, Montepulciano and many other tourist destinations in Valdichiana, Valtiberina and Val d'Orcia. Lake Trasimeno and the thermal towns of Chianciano Terme and San Casciano dei Bagni are within short driving distance. A golf club, a riding stable and a tennis club are within a few kilometers of the estate. Accommodation The pretty, recently renovated farmhouse composes of kitchen, two double bedrooms and a bathroom with shower. A supplementary single bed can be added in one of the bedrooms. Facilities and Services The farmhouse is equipped with barbecue, wood-burning oven, fridge, freezer, electric oven, gas cooker, moka coffee maker and private car parking space. Food shops, a cafe, a tobacconist and a riding stable are 2 kilometers from the farmhouse. A restaurant, a tennis club and a golf club are within 6 kilometers of the estate.
