Location The beautiful villa stands in the countryside around Arezzo, in eastern Tuscany. Lying on a hill at the intersection of four valleys - Valtiberina, Valdarno, Valdichiana and Casentino -, Arezzo is a charming town still less renowned than the much more famous and visited Florence, Pisa and Siena. Arezzo features many places of historic, artistic and cultural interest that are worth a visit. Among them are the basilica of san Francesco, whose walls are decorated with the famous cycle of frescoes by Piero della Francesca "The Legend of the True Cross", the Duomo of San Donato, which houses a small fresco by Piero della Francesca and some terracottas by Andrea della Robbia, and Piazza Grande or Piazza Giorgio Vasari, surrounded by various important palaces. It is in this square that on the first Sunday of every month and on the preceding Saturday takes place a celebrated antique fair that attracts sellers and antique fans from all over Italy. On the penultimate Saturday of June and on the first Sunday of September the square hosts the Giostra del Saracino, in memory of the period in which people drilled to prepare for a possible Saracen invasion. Description Built in the 16th century, the villa was in origin a farmhouse. The renovation the building has recently undergone has not altered its original architectural structure. The rooms with brick beamed ceilings and terracotta-tiled floors are furnished in Tuscan rustic style. A wide fully fenced park stretches around the elegant building. In the garden are the private swimming pool (6x13 m; depth: 0.50-1.50 m) and an outside bathroom. A loggia is furnished with table and chairs for having meals in the open air. The villa affords gorgeous views of the surrounding mountains covered with forests. Arezzo is just a few kilometers from the property and the upper part of the town and the cathedral are to be seen in the distance. A riding stable and a tennis club are near the villa, whereas the towns of Valtiberina and Valdichiana, as well as Florence, Siena, Pisa and Lucca are easily reached by car for pleasant one-day jaunts. Accommodation The one-story building is split into two apartments but is rent as a single unit. Apartment 1 composes of kitchen corner, large living room and two double bedrooms with private bathroom with shower. A twin bedroom and a bathroom with shower are outside the apartment, about eight meters from the main door. Apartment 2 consists of kitchen, living room with a double sofa bed, a double bedroom, a twin bedroom with a private bathroom and a corridor with a bathroom. Facilities and Services The villa is equipped with outside bathroom, barbecue, fridge, electric oven, microwave oven, toaster, coffee maker, hair dryer and covered car parking space. A cook and a domestic service are available upon request. Shops and services of any kind are within 500 meters of the villa. A tennis club is 1 kilometer from the estate. A riding stable is 12 kilometers from the property.
