Location The farmhouse stands at an altitude of 350 meters on a hill in Valdera, just a few kilometers from Casciana Terme, in the province of Pisa. In the past one of the four maritime republics together with Genoa, Amalfi and Venice, Pisa is one of the world’s most renowned and visited cities of art, thanks to the Leaning Tower, the whole Piazza dei Miracoli - that UNESCO has included in its World Heritage list - and many other little jewels of Italian art, such as the churches of Santa Maria della Spina, Santa Caterina and San Paolo a Ripa d'Arno. Staying at the farmhouse, guests will have the opportunity to watch the various folkloric events that testify to the past of city, such as the "Palio delle Repubbliche Marinare" (Regatta of the Maritime Republics), that takes place in turn in the four participating towns - namely Amalfi, Genoa, Pisa and Venice - between the end of May and the beginning of June, and the "Gioco del ponte" (Battle of the Bridge), that is held on the last Saturday of June. Description The farmhouse stands in panoramic position and is surrounded by a wide fully fenced garden furnished with chairs and sun loungers that affords a gorgeous view over the surrounding forests, fields and olive groves. The fully fenced private swimming pool (10x5 m; depth: 1.40 m) lies about 30 meters from the building. In the annex adjacent to the house is an old wood-burning oven. A patio is furnished for having meals in the open air. The farmhouse is in an excellent position for visiting many Tuscan cities of art, including Pisa, San Gimignano, Volterra, Siena and Lucca, which are all within easy driving distance, as well as the Etruscan coast and its beaches. The owners live in proximity to the farmhouse and will be glad to help their guests in case of need. Accommodation The farmhouse is a two-story building composed of kitchen, dining room, living room with fireplace, reading room, a bedroom with six beds, two quadruple bedrooms with ensuite bathroom, two triple bedrooms with ensuite bathroom and a fifth bathroom. Facilities and Services The farmhouse is equipped with wood-burning oven, barbecue, working fireplace, DVD player, oven and private car parking space. A cook and a domestic help are available upon request. Shops and services of any kind are 2 kilometers from the farmhouse, whereas the thermal baths of Casciana Terme are 7 kilometers from the estate.
