Villa Tommasi Aliotti is located in the town of Cortona, not far from this beautiful Tuscan town with considerable historical and cultural wealth. The villa is surrounded by a large park and it was built in the sixteenth century. The Tommasi Aliotti family was one of the richest and most important families of the area. Over the centuries, the owners have made many changes to the villa and garden. In the eighteenth century there were major changes. In the nineteenth century Luigi Aliotti again changed the structure of the residence and these are the last major architectural changes. The villa then assumed its present appearance in the nineteenth century.
Villa Tommasi Aliotti has three floors and a taller part in the middle that visual momentum up to the villa. There are many windows thatlook out onto the large patio with an oval fountain in the center. The fountain features the property. The large oval fountain probably dates back to the changes made by the Knight Luigi Aliotti in the nineteenth century. The entrance to the villa is through a door divided into three parts.
The park is very large. The lemon garden goes back to the nineteenth century and it is at the side of the villa. The lemon garden was built in Gothic style. To achieve the oval square with a fountain and the main entrance there is a long tree-lined avenue. At the rear of the villa there are numerous examples of oaks. Part of the area is cultivated and is, therefore, an agricultural area.
The villa is open to the public. There are no tickets, but you can make an offer. In addition, upon request, you can take guided tours.
