Villa Le Molina in Pisa
Villa Le Molina is a historic residence dating back to the seventeenth century in the province of Pisa. The villa is located in Molina di Quosa near San Giuliano Terme, ideal if you love Tuscany and spas.
Villa Le Molina is a villa of about 2200 square meters, which now houses several apartments and large living rooms. The design of the villa is from the end of the sixteenth century. The owners who approved the project and built the grand residence were the Agliata, which held the property for more than two centuries. In 1820 the new owners became the Princes Corsini family then passed to the Pozzo di Borgo. Agliata, however, was the family who decided to intervene in the eighteenth century on the villa and changed it structurally. In the eighteenth century the Agliata added two wings to the main building by enlarging the living area of the villa and creating a large courtyard enclosed by an elegant gate. The house in that period took its C shape.
The interiors are elegantly furnished and there are important frescoes. Among the most well-known, the frescoes of Ademollo. The loggia is also painted and beautify the closed yard of the villa. The park is an integral part of the property and is a feature that will make you appreciate even more the villa. The park covers ten hectares. Inside the park there are century old rare plants. Among these, there are the magnolias and live oaks which are over 400 years old.
In the park there are fountains which embellish the scenery. The Rio dei Mulini (Mills river) create a natural waterfall called the Unicorn. The park also has an impressive grove where you can walk. Many statues and decorative vases. The villa can be visited by appointment.
