Location The apartment is situated in south-western Tuscany, in Maremma, on the magnificent promontory of Punta Ala (Grosseto). A famous seaside resort on the Tuscan coast, in the past Punta Ala stood at the border of the Principality of Piombino and the Grand Duchy of Tuscany. The Castle of Punta Ala and the Hidalgo Tower were built in the 16th century to protect the coastal town from pirates' attacks. In the last century, Punta Ala (as the long-distance aviator Italo Balbo renamed it; its original name was, in fact, Punta Troia) became an important tourist destination where many Italian and foreign politicians and sports and show-biz stars love to spend their summer vacations. Punta Ala has also been used several times as a film setting. Description The result of the division of a villa into four lodgings, the apartment is a few meters from the free and equipped beaches of Punta Ala, a golf club and a riding stable. Around the villa is a gorgeous pinewood where guests can have relaxing walks. The apartment has a private garden furnished for having meals and relaxing in the open air; in the garden is also the barbecue equipment. The apartment is an excellent solution for those who would like to discover the natural beauties of the Natural Park of Uccellina and the Nature Reserve of Diaccia Botrona and to visit the isle of Elba: Piombino, the port of embarkation to Portoferraio and Rio Marina, is within short driving distance.
