Location
The vacation house stands at an altitude of 380 meters above sea level near Porto Ercole, a village in southern Tuscany in the municipality of Monte Argentario (Grosseto), in Maremma.
Like many other Tuscan towns, Porto Ercole boasts Etruscan origins, as demonstrate the numerous archaeological finds unearthed in the area. The core of the fortress of Porto Ercole was built in the late 13th century; the citadel was then enlarged in the following century. In the 15th century, the Republic of Siena purchased the port and had the village encircled with the walls that are still to be seen. Porto Ercole was the theatre of a battle between the Spanish and French armies (which were allied with Florence and Siena, respectively) reproduced in a fresco by Giorgio Vasari in the Salone dei Cinquecento in Palazzo Vecchio (Florence). Under the Spanish domination, Porto Ercole became and important European sea port. Nowadays, it is the favorite seaside destination of many Italian and European politicians and artists.
Description
The vacation house is immersed in the green Mediterranean macchia and is surrounded by a garden in which is the barbecue equipment. The terrace with a pergola furnished for having meals al fresco and the garden afford a wonderful view of Mount Argentario and the Tyrrhenian Sea.
In proximity to the vacation house are a tennis club and a golf club. Guests can hire some bikes at the beach of Feniglia, hire a boat and visit the coves of the promontory or have wonderful horseback rides in the area. On the first weekend of each month and on August 15th Orbetello hosts an antique street market. Siena, Tuscania, Pitigliano, Tarquinia and other Tuscan cities of art are within easy driving distance.

The complex consists of the main house and an annexed cottage.
The house composes of kitchen, dining room, living room, a double bedroom, a twin bedroom, a single bedroom and two bathrooms.
The cottage has a double bedroom and a bathroom.

A baby sitter and a maid service are available upon request.
