Location
The cottage stands at an altitude of 250 meters above sea level on the hills around Lido di Camaiore (Lucca), in Versilia.
Versilia is a coastal region in northern Tuscan that owes its name to the river that flows through its territory. In Roman times "Fosse Papiriane" - as the region was then called - was a vast marshy area stretching from Pisa to Massa and from the Apuan Alps to the sea. Actually, the river Versilia flows only through the municipalities of Seravezza, Stazzema, Forte dei Marmi and Pietrasanta, which constitute the so-called "historic Versilia". The municipalities of Viareggio, Camaiore and Massarosa have been considered part of the region just for a hundred years.
A region renowned for its beaches and its nightlife, the land that gave birth to the poet Giosuè Carducci and where lived the composer Giacomo Puccini and the poet and novelist Gabriele D'Annunzio hosts many important cultural events and is rich natural beauties, such as the Natural Park of Migliarino - San Rossore - Massaciuccoli.
Description
The cottage is immersed in an orchard and surrounded by a garden, in which are the barbecue equipment and the private swimming pool (diameter: 4 m; depth: 1.50 m).
A pergola is furnished with table and chairs for guests to have their meals in the open air.
Guests can have pleasant walks and mountain-bike rides along the several CAI-marked trails that stretch around the property.
The beaches of Lido di Camaiore, Marina di Pietrasanta and Forte dei Marmi are just a few kilometers from the estate.
Moreover, the cottage is an excellent departure point for one-day trips to Pisa, Lucca, Florence and many other Tuscan tourist destinations.
