Location
The castle stands at an altitude of about 600 meters on a hill in the Chianti district, in proximity to Gaiole in Chianti, in the province of Siena.
Together with Radda and Castellina, Gaiole formed the so-called "Lega del Chianti", which in the origin was a political-military alliance created by the Republic of Florence whose purpose was the defense of Florentine territories in the Chianti area. At the end of the conflicts between Florence and Siena, the Lega became an administrative institution. Grand Duke Peter Leopold abolished the Lega del Chianti in 1774. The black rooster on its crest has now become the symbol of Chianti Classico wine.
The territory of Gaiole is dotted with medieval castles and churches, the most important being the castles of Brolio, Meleto and Montegrossoli, the Abbey of Coltibuono and the churches of San Bartolomeo a Vertine, Santa Maria a Spaltenna and San Polo in Rosso.
Description
The apartment is in what in origin was the tower of an 11th-century castle that due to the conflicts that brought bloodshed to the Chianti region for centuries was conquered by the Republic of Siena in 1478, set to fire by Emperor Charles V's army, and finally re-conquered by Florence in 1555.
The building is immersed in a cypress-tree forest and enjoys a breathtaking view over the surrounding countryside.
A gazebo furnished for having meals in the open air and the private swimming pool (5x10 m; depth: 1.20-2.10 m) are in the garden dotted with fruit trees. The pool side is furnished with deck chairs and sun lounges.
Florence, Siena, Arezzo, the Chianti region and many other Tuscan tourist destinations are within a few kilometers of the castle and are easily reached by car.
A riding stable and a tennis club are within 7 kilometers of the castle.

The tower is a three-story building composed of entry hall, kitchen, dinette, living room with a double sofa bed, a double bedroom, a twin bedroom, a single bedroom and a bathroom with shower and a half bathroom with bathtub.
The internal courtyard and a private terrace are accessed from the first floor.
